To further promote the future-oriented construction and development of Fudan University's School of Management and attract talents with strategic vision to lead School of Management to the forefront of world-class institutions, Fudan University is announcing a recruitment process for the position of Dean of School of Management. This process is being conducted in accordance with The Regulations on the Administration of Leadership Personnel in Public Institutions, The Measures for the Selection and Appointment of Mid-Level Leaders at Fudan University, and The Measures for the Administration of Appointed-Term Leaders at Fudan University.

I. Position

 Dean of School of Management (One Position)

II. Key Responsibilities

1. Provide overall leadership for the school's administrative operations, develop overarching objectives and strategic plans for disciplinary advancement, and drive the implementation of reform and development initiatives in alignment with the Double First-Class initiative.

2. Spearhead the reform of educational and teaching practices, strengthen the development of first-class programs, innovate talent cultivation models, and enhance a top-tier talent development system to comprehensively improve the quality of education.

3. Promote the development of a high-caliber faculty team, intensify efforts to attract and nurture leading experts and outstanding young scholars, optimize the faculty structure, and build a internationally competitive faculty team.

4. Strengthen the school's research and innovation capacity, facilitate research in cutting-edge academic fields, foster the development of major research platforms, and lead the organization of national-level key research projects to address critical national strategies and regional socioeconomic needs.

5. Advance international collaboration and exchange, expand high-level global partnerships, and enhance the internationalization of the school.

6. Fulfill other duties as stipulated in the employment contract.

III. Qualifications and Criteria

In addition to meeting the basic requirements stipulated in The Measures for the Selection and Appointment of Mid-Level Leaders at Fudan University and The Measures for the Administration of Appointed-Term Leaders at Fudan University, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

1.Unwavering support for the leadhership of the Communist Party of China, firm implementation of the Party's educational policies, adherence to the socialist orientation in running the institution, commitment to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, and a deep dedication to higher education.

2. A strong sense of commitment, responsibility, and mission, with the ability to devote themselves fully to the school's management. Possess a strong strategic and holistic perspective, professional competence, a sound understanding of the principles of higher education, and familiarity with the development trends of management science and the rules governing teaching and research. Must have the professional knowledge and capabilities required to fulfill the role's responsibilities.

3. A Ph.D. in a discipline related to Management Science, a full professorial rank, distinguished academic achievements, and significant academic influence among peers domestically and internationally.

4. A forward-looking and strategic vision, with the capability to lead the development of a first-class discipline. Demonstrable management experience and a track record of significant achievement within renowned academic institutions related to management science, either in China or abroad. A strong global perspective, familiarity with the operational models of world-class schools of management, excellent foreign language and cross-cultural communication skills, and an established international academic and collaborative network.

5. Demonstrate academic rigor, exemplify ethical integrity, maintain a principled work style, and uphold high standards of professional ethics and personal integrity.

6. A minimum of five years of relevant work experience and physical fitness necessary to perform the duties of the role. The candidate is responsible for undertaking full-time duties in the position.

IV. Appointment Term and Remuneration

1. Dean's term is five years, including a one-year probationary period.

2. The candidate will receive working conditions and salary benefits commensurate with the position of deans of the university's secondary schools. Competitive compensation will be provided in accordance with the university’s high-level talent recruitment policies, provided that the candidate meets the relevant criteria.

V. Application and Nomination Procedures

(I) Methods of Application and Nomination

1. Self-Recommendation: Qualified individuals may apply directly to the Task Force for the Recruitment of Dean of School of Management, Fudan University (FDSM) by submitting the required personal application materials.

2. Organizational Recommendation: Renowned experts, scholars, and relevant organizations, both within and outside the university may nominate suitable candidates who meet the position requirements to the Task Force for the Recruitment of Dean of FDSM, providing a nomination letter and relevant supporting documents.

(II) Application/Nomination Deadline

All applications and nominations must be received by December 15, 2025.

(III) Required Application/Nomination Materials

1.Completed Application Form (see attachment), including a recent two-inch color passport-sized photograph of the applicant, without headwear.

2.Scanned copy of ID card or passport.

3.Scanned copies of academic degree certificates and professional technical position certifications.

4.Proof of current or previous overseas employment (required for overseas applicants).

5.A list of teaching and research achievements and awards from the past five years, with supporting documentation, as well as 3-5 representative publications and other materials demonstrating the candidate's academic vision and capacity to advance the discipline.

6.A report outlining the candidate's proposed work plan and expected objectives as Dean.

7.A list of academic referees (3-5 individuals).

VI. Selection Process

The Task Force for the Recruitment of Dean of FDSM will conduct a qualification review of all applicants and nominees. Candidates who meet the required qualifications will proceed to the subsequent stages, including an interview, professional assessment, comprehensive evaluation, final deliberation, pre-appointment publicity, and official appointment.
