01、Job Summary
The World Resources Institute (USA) Beijing Representative Office is looking for one highly self-motivated student to be an intern at the Research, Data & Impact (RDI) team.
As an RDI data intern, you will help provide research, data collection and preprocessing, and administrative support to the RDI team in China. The intern will support several interdisciplinary and multi-group research projects in the WRI China office. The intern is required to work at least three days a week, and the term is a minimum of three months. The internship can be remote or on-site.
02、Responsibilities
1. Research & Analysis (90%)
Conduct data processing and develop AI tools using Python, working with diverse data types including audio, image, and text;
Perform data cleaning, processing, and analysis with Python, Excel, Google Earth Engine;
Search, collect, and organize geospatial and statistical data to support environmental research projects;
Conduct literature reviews of academic papers and synthesize key findings;
Support other research activities per request。
2. Administrative affairs (10%)
Copyedit and translate reports and papers;
Provide administrative support per request。
03、Qualifications
1. Enrolled undergraduate (at least Junior) or graduate student toward a degree in computer science, GIS, remote sensing, environment, or other related majors.
2. Proficient in Python for building reproducible data analysis pipelines;experienced in working within Linux systems.
3. Familiarity with recent AI technology, including large language models (LLMs), generative AI, and prompt engineering, etc.
4. Understand the use of APIs with programming workflows, including experience with industry-standard APIs such as the OpenAI API and DeepSeek API.
5. Fluency in Chinese and English (both written and spoken).
6. Response to requests in a timely manner.
7. Ability to work independently with little supervision.
